Justification by faith, the making of disciples for Christ, and service in love.

The Oxford Church’s mission is to reach, teach, support, and see people saved throughout all ethnicities, cultures, and nations. To empower people, lead and impact our communities through biblical principles, reach the lost and broken with the utmost level of dignity and respect, and bring the gospel in the ordinary language of the people we serve.

Our Identity

• The Oxford Church is called by God to reach out to all peoples, cultures, and nations in accordance with the teaching of Christ, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28: 19-20).

• The Oxford Church seeks to live out her mandate in agreement with the early church as recorded in Acts 2: 42, “And they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers.”

• The vital expressions of the apostles’ teaching we believe are summarized in the confessions we adhere to: The Belgic Confession, The Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort.

• As a community the Oxford Church strongly believes in the practice of frequent fellowship and common spiritual counsel. This happens, as it did in the early church, when bread is broken together and communal prayer is exercised.

• As The Oxford Church we believe in the observance of two sacraments: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

• The Oxford Church most importantly desires to be a community where the law and gospel of God are duly proclaimed, the cause of Christ furthered, and the communion of the Holy Spirit lived out in faith, hope and love.

Our Pastor

Rev. Veldman became pastor in 2005 in Québec, Canada and has continued to serve in the ministry till today. He has been involved in and responsible for new church plants and established churches during these 16 years of service.

Besides his work as Pastor, Dr. Veldman also served as Professor of Christian Theology at the Faculté de Théologie Évangélique de Montréal of the Université Acadia for 12 years, teaching courses in Systematic Theology, Christian Spirituality, Ethics and Apologetics. During 4 of those years he was the Academic Dean of the Faculté de Théologie Évangélique.

Rev. Dr. Veldman also has travelled extensively to preach and teach courses in Haiti, Serbia and the Netherlands, in French, English and Dutch. Regardless of these credentials and experiences, Pastor Veldman hopes that the Lord will be present and at work in The Oxford Church. Without the Lord’s power and gracious presence all will be futile. However, with them life will be fruitful unto eternity.

“For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen. “(Rom. 11:36).
